URBANAUTA was founded in Barcelona in 2014.

The founders, Elisabet Alemán and Bárbara Glaenzel, met while working in theater costume design and production.

Driven by curiosity, the desire to create something of our own, and the excitement of designing beautiful and practical objects, we began designing our first backpacks. We went from a passion for dressing fictional characters to designing accessories for real people.

We didn’t come from the business world, nor did we have any experience in fashion, but we did have a very clear idea and a strong desire to learn.

From the very beginning, we wanted to build more than just a brand: a personal and creative project based on local production, social responsibility, and respect for the environment.

That’s how our first model came to be. A stylish, secure, and practical backpack.

What started out almost as a fun project among friends soon began to appear on the streets of Barcelona. Over time, that first design became one of our classics and marked the beginning of everything that URBANAUTA is today: a creative, accessible, and socially conscious project.
